This is a result of trying to draw a block to use instead of sashing an on point applique quilt. It is OK, but not what I was trying to do, so have abandoned the attempt. I am showing you the two quilts I designed and will keep the block in my library, more as a curiosity than a because does what I wanted to do.
The reason it doesn’t appeal to me is that where the blocks meet at the corners looks a bit awkward.
I will continue to play with the block design until it works as a more conventional sashing, with the sashing strip and the corner squares. I have a mid week retreat planned for tomorrow, so I will share the results later in the week … all going well!

I like the colors especially for March and St. Patrick’s Day. I like the curves between the corners. How are you doing with the Covid-19. We are doing the self isolation and stay at home. Really gives a lot more time for sewing LOL!

Thank you. The design was inspired by a piece of furniture fabric, and after getting it all sorted out and into a quilt, it looked nothing like the inspiration … but then that little applique shapes was the main thing that attracted me!
We are being asked to stay at home as much as possible, and yes, not being encouraged to go out is adding to computer and sewing time. Computer time is trying to name blocks, drawn blocks and sort out everything so I can find them all! Sewing is clothing from a largish collection of lengths I have allowed to build up for years and my aim is to use it all … anything I don’t need will go to an op shop. Five or six clothing items to go including one to cut out, the blocks are falling into place one by one!
