Another old favourite quilt design has been given a virtual make-over.
This is the simplest variation of Double Wedding Ring design with the arcs in one piece,
rather than in sections which is more commonly seen
Here it is in a straight setting …………..
………………….. then tipped onto the diagonal for a bit of variety.
Anyone who has followed this Virtual Quilter for any time at all will know that I never stop there!
Add an applique block or two or more to the straight setting ………………….
……………..but what if I not only replace some Double Wedding Ring blocks with appliqué blocks,
but only use part of the wedding rings arcs in other blocks.
Then I had another thought which I just had to have to play with.
…………… well, it worked rather well in my never humble opinion.
What if …………. the rings in the virtual Double Wedding Ring variations are more like the gold bands we exchange in real wedding ceremonies?
Sometimes a simple idea turns into gold!
It’s a bit like waving a magic wand!
Or throwing fairy dust about the place.
Or even finding the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
I think I am in love …………. I think I might have to make one of these for our bed sometime before our
Golden Wedding Anniversary.
I’ve got 15 years, so it is achievable!
