Here is what Karen had to say about the quilt so far.
The big triangles are brilliant for charity quilts. Especially if you chain piece and use the quick half square triangle method. All the squares were cut, sewn and sliced apart in a couple of hours. It did take an hour or so to work out how many of each combination I needed but once that was done it was so quick to do. Took longer to settle on the fabric.
I would have had the top done in a day, if I hadn’t stopped and fiddled with the layout a few times. I guess that is the down side of a design wall. I wonder what it would look like if I did this and moved this one, oh and this one too.
Oh and the other seriously cool thing about half square triangles is that you can make them any size to fit any bed, wall, cot, table, floor etc.
The quilt top is going together this weekend … if Karen doesn’t spend too much time playing with the blocks on the design wall.

I’m like Karen…it is alot of fun to play with blocks on the design wall! And if we are really obsessing (I mean, playing really hard), we are taking digital photos of every single change we make on our wall. LOL!

It was the only way I could show how many different ways a set of blocks could be put together before I got Electric Quilt!
For one workshop I spent a whole day moving bits around and taking photos … it took less time to put the quilt top together! And that was before digital cameras too, so had to be sure all the bits were facing the right way for every shot.
