Not my favourite colour combination by far, which is probably why this project file has been gathering dust for a long time. I like the design though.
At a quilt exhibition several years ago I added my vote to the Viewers Choice award, something I rarely do as I can rarely pick just one quilt from all those hanging in the venue, but this day one quilt did stand out for me.
The only thing I didn’t like was the colour … blue! Everything else was top rate. Overall design in the blocks and the quilting design, workmanship, and use of contrast … and that last one was was easily the deciding factor for me. Contrast at all levels make for great art anywhere and everywhere, in all works of art, including making quilts.
I also like the second design … despite the colour choices.
