I am not happy with the light side of the blocks, or both sides if they are light blocks, but the results are interesting overall. I recently tried to get a good variety of real black and white fabrics, and went to three shops and still did not get a great mixture.

I really like these and my husband loves black and white. I agree that it is difficult to find a wide variety of either color with enough variations to not look the same but coordinated.

I am giving a whole lot of black and white scraps away because they are too similar after buying them to make a block for a challenge.
