Virtual Quilts?
I am a quilter who uses a computer program to design way more quilts than I could ever make in several lifetimes.
The quilts featured on this site have never been made. No stash has been harmed in the process.
This site is a chance to show the un-used and unseen designs to others, and occasionally share designs by making some EQ8 project files available by email on request.
Please note that my only association with the Electric Quilt Company is as a very satisfied customer.
I prefer to be in a tag free zone and award free area. I am just happy to know you came for a look.

Hexie Logs 36, 37, 38, 39, 40
The Log Cabin block usually starts with a square, but can also start with a rectangle, a triangle, and a hexagon. Starting with an octagon might be a step too far, but is possible! Different and very unusual! The appliques … Continue reading

Beetaloo Logs 26, 27, 28, 29, 30
One hundred and forty four identical blocks, … twist a few around for a new design, … then turn them all inside out for another design … repeat over … and over. This project file could go on forever, but … Continue reading
Logs in the Garden 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Very formal garden! Love the applique border in the second design, but a bit disappointed as I hoped that the soft colours of the Log Cabin blocks in the background would be more effective. Like the extra flowers in the … Continue reading
Logs at Lochiel 46, 47, 48, 49, 50
I have not seen many pink Log Cabin quilts. Most seem to be much stronger colours, but I wanted to try designing some with pretty fabrics when I started this project file. The name followed naturally as there is a … Continue reading
Purple Logs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
First design in a new series is very interesting . I like the second design too. Notice that the blocks with half dark and half light strips around them start with darks strips added to the centre square first. I … Continue reading
Curved Cornerstones 71, 72, 73, 74, 75
Interesting. Very neat. Wow! Anything but neat! Small change, but it seems to be neater than the previous one. A bit neater and tidier. Different! More Log Cabin designs mid week, next week.
Logs on Point + 111, 112, 113, 114, 115
Playing with assorted variations of the Log Cabin block can lead to many, many quilt designs. Some of them are weird, but interesting! Some of them just interesting like the one above, which I like a lot.. Another interesting design. … Continue reading
Bundaleer Logs 56, 57, 58,59, 60
I think the first design for this week’s mid week Log Cabin retreat should be ‘Spider in a Spin’ Interesting, but not as much fun as the first design. I like the corners in the third, but think they would … Continue reading
TNT Log Jam 111, 112, 113, 114, 115
This project file has 35 plus different colorings of the Thick and Thin Log Cabin blocks. The design above uses just three of those colorings. The second design has four different colorings, and I love it. Not terribly excited by … Continue reading
Log Cabin Hideaway 11, 12, 13, 14, 15
A log cabin hideaway would be a nice place to be when the temperature goes up to 35 plus. I guess I will have to enjoy the air conditioner in town.. First two designs are interesting. I am always amazed … Continue reading
