Log Cabin Baby Blocks 66, 67, 68, 69, 70

Interesting … how many stars are there mixed up there? Same design, different colouring, and the dark star has lost a lot of impact! I can spend half an hour changing blocks within this layout, and like them all enough … Continue reading

Log Cabin Hideaway 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

Middle of another week, and at the rate life is speeding up, tomorrow could well be the middle of next week. The first design for today is interesting. I like the second. Another interesting one. Lots of interesting things happen … Continue reading

Cabin Fever Quilted 31, 32, 33, 34, 35

Middle if the week, time for a short coffee break looking at some Log Cabin quilt designs … and this week they are virtually quilted. I prefer to quilt enough to hold the layers together, but not too much. Too … Continue reading

TNT Logs + 56, 57, 58, 59, 60

Another week has raced by, helped along by daylight saving starting for the remainder spring, summer and into autumn. This has disrupted my life by an hour, but has played all sorts of tricks with my blogging routine, especially the … Continue reading

Log Cabin Baby Blocks 31, 32, 33, 34, 35

I thought the weeks were passing very quickly during the last few weeks of frantic packing. Now they are passing even more quickly during the first six weeks of unpacking. At least I get to take a longer break in … Continue reading

Less Logs in the Cabin 61, 62, 63, 64, 65

I like it … might be the favourite for the day! What looks like sashing is really just the outer strip of a Log Cabin block. Like the variation of the width of the outer strips in the curved blocks … Continue reading

Logs on Point + 71, 72, 73, 74, 75

I usually like designs which have dark frame around the central design, plus a dark border but with a small contrast between the border and the dark … like the one above. However, I love the one above, without that … Continue reading

City Courthouse 66, 67, 68, 69, 70

Courthouse Steps is a variation of the Log Cabin block … the difference between the two is that to piece a Log Cabin block, you work around the centre square, to piece a Courthouse Steps block you work on opposite … Continue reading

Log Cabin Baby Blocks 26, 27, 28, 29, 30

Thank goodness it is Wednesday, middle of the week, so I can retreat … after the last couple of weeks I need to retreat from food, family and friends for some quiet times. (It was fun while it lasted though!) … Continue reading

Less Logs in the Cabin 36, 37, 38, 39, 40

Interesting! More interesting! Another interesting design. I am rather liking how these blocks are working … and because there are less logs, they are less work to make them. Results would be worth every stitch.
