Virtual Quilts?
I am a quilter who uses a computer program to design way more quilts than I could ever make in several lifetimes.
The quilts featured on this site have never been made. No stash has been harmed in the process.
This site is a chance to show the un-used and unseen designs to others, and occasionally share designs by making some EQ8 project files available by email on request.
Please note that my only association with the Electric Quilt Company is as a very satisfied customer.
I prefer to be in a tag free zone and award free area. I am just happy to know you came for a look.

Basically Nine patch blocks … some with the contrast moved around a little, with a few plain blocks not used alternately. Perhaps put together by someone who found a bottle of Irish liquor while putting blocks together. Though now that … Continue reading
Irish 9P 31 and 32
Simplest of the Irish Chain designs is the Single Irish Chain, made up of a Nine Patch block alternated with a solid square of the background colour I didn’t find it terribly exciting moving those two blocks around trying … Continue reading

Irish Chain 46
Interesting … nothing like an Irish chain, but it is created using the two blocks which can create the Single Irish Chain. Fellow South Aussie Ming Hsu won Best Machine Quilting at Houston … Congratulations! I have a job to … Continue reading

Tangled Irish Chains … and I am quite happy to leave them tangled just like they are!

Irish 9P 29
Recolour some 9P blocks, make some of the blocks used in the Single Irish Chain designs, and mix them together.
Irish 9P 29
Single Irish Chain is made up of two blocks … Nine Patch alternated with solid blocks using the same fabric as the background in the Nine Patch. Irish 9P is what happens when the Nine Patch blocks have the squares … Continue reading
Irish 9P 27
This design is based on the Single Irish Chain … Nine Patch blocks alternated with plain blocks. The theory is to just start making some blocks and mix them up. Then make a few more blocks with the contrast shuffled … Continue reading
Irish Chain 40
A very twisted single Irish chain!
Irish 9P 31
Not too sure about that border! I have been playing with the colours within the basic 9 patch block, and though I am not delighted with this particular design, I like the possibilities which are opening up with the ‘new’ … Continue reading
Irish 9P 30
Nine Patch blocks, some plain blocks, and it creates an interesting design. I would use random light fabrics throughout the quilt, with coordinated dark scraps. There is a sort of wreath in the centre, so perhaps I would use coordinated … Continue reading
