Virtual Quilts?
I am a quilter who uses a computer program to design way more quilts than I could ever make in several lifetimes.
The quilts featured on this site have never been made. No stash has been harmed in the process.
This site is a chance to show the un-used and unseen designs to others, and occasionally share designs by making some EQ8 project files available by email on request.
Please note that my only association with the Electric Quilt Company is as a very satisfied customer.
I prefer to be in a tag free zone and award free area. I am just happy to know you came for a look.

Textile Inspiration Black Out 7, 8
I love playing with these designs in much more traditional floral colours, but I rather like them blacked out too! I wouldn’t want them in my bedroom, but if they were added to twelve inch tiles and I had a … Continue reading
White Quilting 17, 18
The opposite of White Out, this is much nicer than looking at quilt designs during a power blackout! (The best place I have ever been in during a power blackout was a chocolate factory! There was just enough light from … Continue reading

A Whiter Shade of Pale 29, 30
Love the idea of a very low contrast quilt like these, but I don’t think I want to live with one. At least that saves me the task of picking out one design to make!

A Whiter Shade on Gold Quilted 17, 18
The hardest part of making a quilt with applique designs ‘whited out’ would be choosing the background colour, then finding a collection of fabrics for the very low contrast in the appliques. My favourite of these two is the second!

A Whiter Shade of Pale 27, 28
A very restful design … which is my excuse for not using the background fabric in the corners … I must have had my eyes closed! Still blank corners, and I quilted over the cat!
A Whiter Shade on Antique Gold 21, 22
Love the one above … all neat and tidy, with room for the quilting to shine. Quilting would be in thread to match the applique. I placed the appliques facing the opposite direction to what I would normally do … … Continue reading

A Whiter Shade of Pale 25, 26
Not quite a wholecloth quilt, and I love the idea of using very low contrast fabrics for a subtle effect. I haven’t chosen a design to make, but I have started to collect pale, faded fabrics. This could be a … Continue reading

A Whiter Shade on Antique Gold 18, 19, 20
Love this idea of subtle colourings, and finding just the right fabrics might mean spending way too much time in a quilt shop. I think it would be time well spent! But then, any time spent in a quilt shop … Continue reading
A Whiter Shade of Pale 22, 23, 24
I love all three of these designs … low contrast is restful, which is what we need in a bedroom. The cat agrees. I love using plain squares in designs, which gives our eyes a place to rest, as well … Continue reading
