Virtual Quilts?
I am a quilter who uses a computer program to design way more quilts than I could ever make in several lifetimes.
The quilts featured on this site have never been made. No stash has been harmed in the process.
This site is a chance to show the un-used and unseen designs to others, and occasionally share designs by making some EQ8 project files available by email on request.
Please note that my only association with the Electric Quilt Company is as a very satisfied customer.
I prefer to be in a tag free zone and award free area. I am just happy to know you came for a look.

Quentin’s Quilting 11, 12
Love the design despite the colouring (I don’t like blues) but I can also see this design with the blocks in the centre diamond with added colour pieces. Love the second design as well. Smaller, but with some added contrast … Continue reading

I love it. However, regular light coloured quilting thread would get lost in the dark shadows of a dark fabric … I would use a crochet cotton, and maybe try longer stitches on top, separated by short stitches on the … Continue reading

I love whole cloth quilts, but I doubt that I have the patience to make one. Doesn’t mean I have to stop designing them though!

Virtual Wholecloth 6×6 1
LOL! It looks like lace in places, instead of a whole-cloth quilt design! For users of EQ I think it might be that I copy applique designs to create motif or stencil blocks, which means the shapes are closed … … Continue reading

Virtual Wholecloth 6
I have never made a wholecloth quilt, but love them. I have designed some wholecloth quilts in Electric Quilt though, and I enjoy trying to design with lines creating shapes, not crating those shapes with contrasting fabrics.

I hope you can see this as clearly as I can! I have never made a whole cloth quilt, but playing with block by block quilting design, rather than an all over design, makes it very tempting. Of course, the … Continue reading

Virtual Wholecloth Sirius 5
A comparatively simple whole cloth quilt design … but I think it would look OK. If nothing else, even with low contrast thread colour the design is easier to see than in a lot of photos of whole cloth quilts,
Virtual Wholecloth Sensation 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
When teaching EQ7 workshops I tell students that they need to play with quilt design like some people play computer games. This teacher is doing what she preaches, and she is improving her skills. All the better for the next … Continue reading
