Virtual Quilts?
I am a quilter who uses a computer program to design way more quilts than I could ever make in several lifetimes.
The quilts featured on this site have never been made. No stash has been harmed in the process.
This site is a chance to show the un-used and unseen designs to others, and occasionally share designs by making some EQ8 project files available by email on request.
Please note that my only association with the Electric Quilt Company is as a very satisfied customer.
I prefer to be in a tag free zone and award free area. I am just happy to know you came for a look.

I have spent a lot of time playing with dirt in the garden over the last few years, in particular, over the last year. My garden is a lot less grand than the ones in my virtual quilts, but the … Continue reading

I used this project file while demonstrating Electric Quilt at my state guild’s Festival of Quilts years ago. A very interesting experience, trying to design quilts while chatting to friends passing by, or answering questions from other people. Most of … Continue reading
Festival Garden 11
This is a file I opened to demonstrate how to design a quilt at a quilt exhibition … I saved this one with mismatched background fabrics and colours instead of fabrics in many of the blocks. It probably took about … Continue reading
Garden Festival 13
If only the summer would go away so my garden can grow, without being sunburned every day! Then maybe my real garden would look as neat and tidy as this virtual design.

Garden Festival 6
Love it! Started while demonstrating at our state guild exhibition a couple of years ago, but I have played with it several times since, and the collection of virtual quilts is growing in this project file.

Thinking about how to do the borders … permanent markers or pencils come to mind rather than applique.
Festival Garden 3
Definitely a quilt design which will remain a design … though I have been thinking about techniques for that border fence. I think I would buy in a good supply of permanent markers. Another thought … I wonder how many … Continue reading
Garden Festival 4
One of a series which happened while I was talking to people (and watching Julie Adamson quilt by hand) at our state guild exhibition a couple of years ago. I cheated by starting with blocks which I had used before … Continue reading
Garden Festival 1, 2 and 3
During the Quilter’s Guild of South Australia Festival of Quilts Exhibition I was rostered to do some demonstrating. I usually do hand quilting but this year decided to do something different … I decided that I would try demonstrating how … Continue reading
