PJ 1134 In a Spin 10

Spent some time looking through Patchwork Jigsaws late yesterday … and tried to pick one to share. Settled on his one because I like the border, which is just a recolouring of the blocks making up the rest of the … Continue reading

Just a touch of pink! I found this in an unrelated project file which I was moving to the retired list and thought I would brighten up the day.

A basic Patchwork Jigsaw block, twist the corners around, and then move the colours around. Two simple shapes, but a lot of possibilities to explore.

PJ 1234 1, 2, 3, 4

There are limited possibilities with this Patchwork Jigsaw block … or is there? I have to admit that I find this block rather uninspiring, and found it was hard work to find some designs I liked. I think I will … Continue reading

PJ 1113 Spinners 1, 2, 3, 4

PJ 1133 Twisted Ribbons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

The design above is the one which is most often called Drunkards Path. Look what happens if we add a second contrast fabric. It sort of looks like a couple of twisted ribbons criss-crossing each other. What if I twist … Continue reading

PJ 1111 5, 6 Carpet Square

Yesterday the Patchwork Jigsaw designs I shared were designed with single units. With the designs for today the basic squares are used to make 2 x 2 blocks before constructing the quilt top.  I am wondering if there are more … Continue reading

Patchwork Jigsaw Basics 1, 2

Two fabrics, two shapes equal one block. Make the blocks small and use lots of them to make some very interesting designs. I use the easy no pins method to join the curves which is featured in Anita Murphy’s book, … Continue reading
