Virtual Quilts?
I am a quilter who uses a computer program to design way more quilts than I could ever make in several lifetimes.
The quilts featured on this site have never been made. No stash has been harmed in the process.
This site is a chance to show the un-used and unseen designs to others, and occasionally share designs by making some EQ8 project files available by email on request.
Please note that my only association with the Electric Quilt Company is as a very satisfied customer.
I prefer to be in a tag free zone and award free area. I am just happy to know you came for a look.

A Whiter Shade on Gold Quilted 21, 22
I selected some pale fabrics with minimal contrast, and started playing. If I live long enough I will make at least one example of these designs. The hardesst part will be selecting a design, not the fabrics. I cannot pick … Continue reading
A Whiter Shade on Gold Quilted 19, 20
I opened a drawer of off-whites recently, collected for use as backgrounds … perhaps I should rethink that! Don’t think there is anything for the background though. I have sat here for five minutes trying to decide which one I … Continue reading

A Whiter Shade on Antique Gold 21, 22
Love the one above … all neat and tidy, with room for the quilting to shine. Quilting would be in thread to match the applique. I placed the appliques facing the opposite direction to what I would normally do … … Continue reading

A Whiter Shade on Gold Quilted 13, 14
When I designed the blocks I have used in this series I spent a lot of time trying to get the right amount of contrast between the applique pieces … then discovered that little or no contrast between the applique … Continue reading
A Whiter Shade on Gold Quilted 12
Interesting idea … low contrast fabrics for quite complex applique designs.
Textile Inspirations White Out 14
This is from the original White Out project, which was the result of me accidentally Clearing the colours from a virtual quilt I was editing. I liked the results and started sharing.
A Whiter Shade on Antique Gold 16
I like it, but the design I shared yesterday is more to my taste, and something like that could well become my next UFO!

White Quilting 9
The first time I created a white out on a quilt by somehow deleting all colour from the applique blocks, it was the biggest mistake I had made for quite a while, but I loved the result. This is one … Continue reading

White on White Gold 13
The background fabric looks a little less gold than I thought it would, but I love the design. Lots of room for some creative quilting.
