About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

Patricia’s Patches Quilted 27, 28

I love the first design … sort of old fashioned but not a copy of the old styles. Neither of today’s designs have pieced blocks, though others in the project file do. Love the second one too.

Logs at Lochiel 36, 37, 38, 39, 40

I have rarely seen a Log Cabin Quilt in pretty pink, but this project file is proof that it works. Of course, the designs would work in other colours, but sometimes I like to break the mold. The design above … Continue reading

My 8 x 8 Blocks 53, 54

I love playing with contrast … some blocks high, some low … some plain so the quilting will become the feature. I also like to make the sashing disappear, and so create another design element.

A Whiter Shade on Gold Quilted 23, 24

I love leaving spaces in my designs which can be filled with quilting motifs. I also would outline the applique pieces in these designs. The spaces left between the motifs and the applique in these designs could be filled with … Continue reading

A Whiter Shade on Antique Gold 23, 24

I like it … and it would be a great way to use up a lot of scraps of pale fabric, and could have just about any colour background. Love the second design … and there is space for quilting … Continue reading

Curved Cornerstones 66, 67, 68, 69, 70

Interesting, and I like interesting designs. Interesting again, but it looks like a spider’s web and have no desire to sleep under one of them! The third design still has a slightly webbed look about it, but I like it. … Continue reading

Sunshine and Mushrooms after the Rain 11, 12

Too cold to grow mushrooms at the moment … and a bit dry as well. Mind you, I haven’t tasted field mushrooms since I stopped living on a farm, but if my memory is working well, the mushrooms in my … Continue reading
