Hot cross buns are now in the shops, so I thought I would add a touch of green as a reminder that St Patrick’s Day comes before Easter on the calendar.

It is also a reminder that the weeds are growing at a great rate and today starting off cool could be a good chance to get rid of a few,

In this project file I am trying not to make big, obvious changes to the way the Log Cabin blocks are placed. I was going to limit it to just 8 blocks getting to do a twist but usually exceed that number.

I wonder exactly how many symmetrical designs would be possible with 144 identical Log Cabin blocks. Of course the blocks could always be made using carefully sorted scrap fabrics too.

There is probably a way to mix them up to crate all those designs, but not something I could do without a few gallons of strong coffee.

That is all for this week’s Log cabin quilter’s retreat … more mid week, next week.
