I have spent a lot of time playing with dirt in the garden over the last few years, in particular, over the last year. My garden is a lot less grand than the ones in my virtual quilts, but the weeds are much more impressive, but I keep dreaming that one day the weeds will be under control, or even eliminated altogether.

However, in the next twenty four hours I think I will have some flowers on a plant I have never grown in any of my ten gardens. It feels like I have just stitched the binding on a king size UFO!
Every gardeners dream would be a weedless garden. I am amazed at how fast they grow! It is such a feeling of accomplishment to get them all pulled and the garden looks so wonderful for a few days. I love the first quilt today but do not like to think about how much time it would take to make those border blocks!

Cindy,
There are still weeds growing, and cannot believe how quickly they appear, but when summer cools off I will be weeding and spreading LOTS of mulch … the areas with the most mulch have the least weeds, though not weed free.
That border would be a nightmare, but at least I have a Scan’n’Cut which would make it much easier to cut out. It would then be much more feasible to either hand or machine stitch. Cutting out by hand would drive me more crazy than I already am!!
