Desert Flora 1, 2

In the early hours of this morning I woke up, and after an hour just lying around, then decided to get up and do something quiet. for the best part of two hours I sat at the computer playing with a floral cross featuring Sturt Desert Peas.

With just the basic cross design as my starting point, I designed several block variations, and then some quilts. I usually work with designs for square quilts, but at about 3am I chose a rectangular design, more suited to a single bed.

I decided that I needed a few more block variations and added some of them to the original design.

In my never humble opinion I did pretty well when my eyes should have been closed, and without coffee even! I did eventually go back to bed, but spent the rest of the dark hours thinking about the next designs!

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

I concur. You did very well with no coffee. LOL I like rectangular quilts much more than square.

    • Cindy,

      Thank you.

I will enjoy using some rectangular quilts this weekend at a quilt retreat, but I like something with a bit more width … I have more chance of keeping warm in winter, even if I sometimes have to fight for it!
