The first design today looks like 9 applique blocks set on point with quilted sashing, but it is 9 applique blocks in a 5×5 straight setting with alternate blocks quilted.

I have just worked out how to stop the quilting designs I add to designs from smudging like the one above … don’t use broken lines, use a fine solid line! … but I think I would still use the broken lines when printing pattern sheets.

Well, I thought I had sorted it out!

Back to the drawing board!
I like the last design the best today, Judy. However, I would change out that applique border. 🙂

Laura,
Thank you.
When I am making a quilt I often change the border before I get to it, sometimes because it is too simple, sometimes because it is too complicated, or maybe simply because the colours could be better.

Ooooh I really like the last one, although as Laura has said I would probably change the border. The center is absolutely gorgeous!

Cindy,
Perhaps I had better spend some time playing with different borders in the project file!
