Today’s designs use the same pieced blocks as yesterday’s designs and the applique blocks appeared two days ago … now I am mixing them up!

Both designs are interesting, but I like the second best.

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

I am with you. I like the second one best. Combining applique with pieced is such a good idea as it is usually quicker to piece than to applique but applique is so relaxing and you can do it while out of your sewing room and sitting with your significant other or while traveling.

    • Cindy,

Agree totally … applique can be a long term part of making a quilt, then hit the sewing machine and piece together the quilt top, though I have hand pieced quite a few blocks too. All but one have been put together by machine, while one only passed through the machine to add the binding, which was stitched down by hand.
