Gran’s New Fans 23, 24

One of the project files which have been in existence for ten years, and sitting around doing nothing for most of it. Today I am sharing the last two virtual quilts and putting the file into retirement. Mind you, I am finding that retirement leaves little time for play or rest some days, and some weeks and months!

I like both of the designs, but I think the last is my favourite.

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

I too like the second one. Totally agree with you about the retirement being busy though. I have sewn more clothes and done more housecleaning and binge watching of videos than I ever have before LOL. Can’t complain though as I luckily retired January 1, 2020 so was able to stay home and not go to work at a hospital once Covid hit. Having quilting and sewing as a hobby has also saved my sanity through all the lockdowns. Who knew that all that fabric hoarding would be so much of a blessing.

    • Cindy, Cindy,

I am thinking about mixing up fans and florals … and for once I have the name first … Floral Fan Dance. Don’t hold your breath waiting, but will add it to the list of ideas for new project files.

I am glad we had retired before 2020 too. We both found plenty to keep us amused, though a few frustrating times, like a friend’s wedding in another state postponed twice, then we missed it because we had a lockdown in our state. We have since seen the photos, thankfully! Gardening, dressmaking, sorting out craft materials, crocheting, reading, and occasionally finding time to pick up needle and thread!

My main project for the year was sorting out a couple of block collections, and that still needs some work, but the bulk of it is sorted!
