White Quilting 12, 13, 14

Interesting design.

I like the second one, but the applique border is too wide.

I like this one … always like wholecloth quilts, though i would choose a nicer background fabric.

I often use uninteresting, dull or plain boring fabrics when I want the design to be the feature, not the background, and this project file is one of those times when the design is way more important than the fabric in the background. What colour would you use in these designs?

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

I am thinking a red background with white applique. I think this would make the design festive. Then again, a royal blue and white would be quite pretty. 😁

    • Laura,

On the festive theme, a white background with red applique and green quilting … or green applique, red quilting … I think I will leave it at the dull colorway it is … so our imagination has something to work on!

I’d prefer a very dark colourwash and then a very light colour one. White is always a good standby. Boring but useful. Bit like my ‘ol favorite Log Cabin, its all in the darks and lights!
