Kelly’s Custom Quilts 11, 12

My virtually quilted designs are a great way to show how applique designs can become quilting motifs, but are a little misleading, because I do not add the boring filler designs, partly because it takes as long to fill in the background as it does to quilt it for real, and all those lines tend to hide the motifs, and sometimes even the applique or pieced block designs. So when there are empty spaces in my virtual designs, you have to imagine you are looking at a real quilt with cross hatching in those blank spaces done in a matching thread. If I was a machine quilter by choice the cross hatching could become stippling but still in a matching thread.

In the second design I would have to change the colour of the thread to match the background in places, and I do not like having to thread a machine, but this is my favourite for the day so changing the thread would be worth it.

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.
