Flower with No Name

I should have included this with the design this morning … it is much more likely you may recognise the flower in this setting.

So, if it doesn’t look like a real flower, what would you call it if one appeared in your garden like a weed.

I actually had a flower I didn’t recognise come up in my garden just over 12 months ago. It had a blue flower which I rather liked, though it only opened for a few hours each morning. There were lots of flowers and they produced lots of seeds, which spread all over the garden. I filled the garbage bin twice this year with the new crop, and have still found a few coming up here and there. It was a plant which used to be used as a root vegetable, but it fell out of favour as the roots were too small to be easy to prepare for the table, and it’s common names were Goats Beard (descriptive of the seed), or Jack-go-to-bed-at-noon!

I was thinking of flax until you said root vegetable. At any rate, I like your EQ version! 🙂

Looks a little like a lupine to me!
