Hexie Logs 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

Middle of the week already, but I love all five of today’s designs, so it is not all bad.

My first love of patchwork is applique, and though I love playing with Log Cabin designs, I am not all that enthused about all that piecing. Something like this would be more likely to get onto my list of future projects long before a regular Log Cabin quilt.

I do like that tricky bit around the centre of the design above … even if it is pieced.

After completion of the kitchen cupboard facelift, all that remains is dust … and it is everywhere, so today a few corners of the kitchen and our bedroom are the targeted areas, the spare bedroom and the passage tomorrow, and then into the sewing room. I suspect that there will be some washing of fabric involved, rather than cutting, appliqueing, piecing and quilting!

The worst part of having a dust free house will be that I am not spending enough time at the computer sorting my EQ files, so that project will probably flow over to the new year, but I have decided that this side of christmas I will allow myself to start at least a couple of new project files with blocks that have already been sorted into some sort of order!

That’s all for this week, but there will be more Log Cabin designs next week, mid week, so plan a coffee break so you can look at the designs at leisure.

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

Hexagon logs are a lot more time consuming, but worth the effort in the end I suppose. I like todays selection as well. I can’t imagine doing these by hand. Each to their own.
