Log Applique Album 26, 27, 28, 29, 30

Nothing like a favourite holiday … of just one day … to get us out of routine. Today is Wednesday, and it is nearly over and I have just remembered that I should have shared some Log Cabin designs for a virtual mid week Log Cabin retreat.

Well, there is still time for a five minute break to look through five Log cabin Quilt designs, especially as the designs use the coolest colour I could find. The land down under has found summer, and so a cool change is now on my wish list!

The designs use two colouring variations of the basic Log Cabin block design with some applique blocks filling in some spaces.

Possibly my least favourite colour is blue, but I love the design above. Perhaps I am thinking that with all that blue it must be cooler outside, but I will leave it for a few more hours before I venture outside to check!

Well, that didn’t take long, and another Log Cabin mid week retreat is over, but there will be another next week. Hopefully I will remember early on the right day … this week I remembered to share a design, just not the right one, so I will count that as a bonus for you.

PS. I rather like the last one too!

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

    • Florine,

Even though blue is one of my least favourite colours I often find myself stopping and looking at blue quilts. Good design combined with good use of any colour, by itself or in combination with other colours, always works for me!

That selection is definitely different. I like them, and your colour choice as well. Looks good with the applique as well.

These designs are really beautiful. I love the combo of the applique and the log cabin piecing. The monochromatic color scheme is great.
