Border Beauties 38

Trying something different … joining blocks separated by a solid block, but with a contrast line added to the centre of the plain block. An idea which would work better with different pieced and applique blocks, but interesting!

In this second design the sashing is nearly as wide as the blocks … which makes some odd shaped pieces … do you know how to use paper templates stuck to the wrong side of a clear ruler to cut weird shapes?

Oh yeah…I’ve used paper templates stuck to a ruler a time or two. Ha, ha!

    • Laura,

Nice to know somebody knows … I tried to explain it to someone a while ago. Not the easiest thing to demonstrate with no paper, ruler, fabric cutter, or even fabric, no pattern sheet! Couldn’t even draw in the dirt, as we were in a car park. Good for a laugh though!
