Electric Quilt has one feature which is very much under used.
The quilt above uses nine very simple to piece blocks.
Above is just one of the blocks with slightly different coloring.
Several years ago I started looking for pieced blocks with all straight seams which could be used as quilt layouts … no triangles, all squares or rectangles. This was one of several blocks I drew, and below is that block used as a setting for a quilt, with just one block design added to each of the shapes in the original block.
However, I can use more than one pieced block, and use solid blocks among the pieced and of course, some applique blocks.
So much fun!
I have more blocks turned into quilt settings that I really should play with more often, especially as some of them are saved in my layout library.
