Julie’s Block 10

Julie's Block 10

This design’s layout is based on a pieced block.

The block might make some interesting quilts, but using it as a guide to place assorted size square and rectangular blocks together for a quilt opens up a whole new range of possibilities.

When we get tired of arranging blocks why not start changing the background colour of some of the blocks.

The block I have used for this design is one I designed specifically for this type of project. I must see how well those blocks work as blocks too!

Using a block to create a design layout is pretty clever, Judy. 🙂

Love it. Interesting concept about changing the background colour of some blocks. If you weren’t into applique you could cheat and insert some really nice material pieces.

  3. As Laura said that is a really clever idea. I also agree with Marie about changing the background color of some of the blocks to make a secondary design. Looks great!

    • Cindy,

Thank you … As I commented to Laura, it is one of the features of the nifty ideas which Electric Quilt 7 does automatically from block designs, and something well worth playing with. As you know, I like playing with the colour of background blocks too.
