I wondered if Log Cabin would work with washed out colours … like a quilt which has been washed many times.
When I tried the first design I thought I might look for less contrast for the darkest fabric.
I started playing, and sort of liked the definition the dark outer log in each block added.
The darker log mapped out some interesting designs.
The one above immediately got a name as well as the usual number … Earthquake in a Log Cabin.
So, for now, the dark fabric stays, and then I played with the colouring of the logs.
This colour combination looks a more like a summerhouse that a Log Cabin!
I agree that they are really interesting with the darker logs and I really like the different colorings as well. The earthquake in a log cabin is a great name for that one. Really fits.

Cindy,
I think I even felt the earthquake when I saw that design appear on my screen!
Sometimes something very simple can appear as master strokes of artistic talent.

Yes, definitely the darker colours are more suitable. As much as the lighter colours work in their own way, the design is lost because of it, I think. Different tho’

Marie,
I probably should have gone a few shades darker, but will leave as is now … nothing like including a bit of contrast amongst all the other Log Cabin series I have to share!
