Tricky applique, simple quilting.
Please note that the simple quilting would not go over the applique in any real quilt of mine … I would outline each applique shape in this design, and stop those simple lines at the outline.

I can tell I haven’t completely won you over to the applique team … I must work harder!
Minimal quilting is often plenty … outline the applique pieces and just a little bit in the background if there is a lot of space between the applique.

Applique is definitely something that most people either love or hate. I am starting to like it more and more as I can stay in the living room with my husband handstitching while he watches television. It is also something I can take to Mexico when we go on holidays.

I like anything I can do by hand because it is much more social than working by machine. I quilt by hand, ignoring the TV, though I also play with quilt design on the computer so I don’t have to watch the screen too. (I also answer blog comments too, at the moment ignoring a football program being watched by the sports fan in the house!)
