EQ7 Update

EQ7 Update

Just found a few new toys in my toybox.

And the bestest one?

I can hold down the Alt button and rotate all the blocks in one side border at the same time.

Thank you, Electric Quilt Company!

  2. I need to remember that one. I am so bad at EQ7! It might help if I just spent some time “learning” instead of “doing”.

    • This is something I have wanted for some time, and finding it in the new upgrade was a lovely surprize!

As for learning to use EQ, my advice is to start designing simple quilts, then change some pieced blocks, then some applique blocks, then add a simple border, then a more complicated border, then some quilting … like learning to make real quilts. Most of the things we do to make a real quilt can be done in EQ, so when you think you would like to use an applique design but with it tipped on point, check the help files and manual to learn how to do it. We learn best when we want to use something NOW.

And save often so you don’t have to undo 20 changes to get back to the one you thought you liked most. Most importantly, remember you don’t have to make every quilt you design.

EQ has been one of the greatest “inventions” for quilters since the rotary cutter. To be able to “see” something before cutting into fabric is wonderful and freeing as you don’t have to worry about “wasting” fabric. The EQ company is wonderful with the new tools and upgrades they provide and the wonderful support they give.
