White on White Gold 3 and 4

White on White Gold 3

The outer row of blocks with the outside in …

White on White Gold 4

… or the inside out?

I like the first one … but it was worth trying the blocks facing the other way to satisfy myself that I was right!

I was thinking about how I would quilt some of the designs in this series, but think I will leave it alone. Any quilting on these designs would be in thread matching the area being quilted, outlining the applique and just holding the layers together everywhere else. Simple, and not too much of it. Too much and contrast thread would blur the lines of the applique too much.

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

    • Cat,

Big word first thing in the morning! You have reminded me I need another coffee.

But, even before the kettle has boiled, you are right … it would not look out of place on some of the trappings of churches, and would look lovely in those colours.

I was thinking that I should add some cats to this series, though maybe white cats would just disappear on the applique.
