How come the middle of the week rolls around much quicker than the weekend?
At least it is a chance to show off some designs featuring Log Cabin block variations!
In this series I have tried very hard to keep the designs in sequence … showing incremental changes as they happened, and not mixing them up for more variety.
Somehow the one above seems to be out of that sequence!
Obviously I didn’t like where I was heading and went back to the previous design and carried on!
This is one of the few series of Log Cabin designs where I have used an odd number of blocks, which means I have used Courthouse Steps in both the vertical and horizontal centre rows in every design to keep the designs symmetrical.
This is the last design in this series … not something I write very often … but will leave it active just in case I want to play some more one day. I am pretty sure I haven’t exhausted the possibilities!
More Log Cabin designs next week.
Love the last one!

So apt, we’ve just had snow again on the official third day of spring! Love the colour palette, could we have a blue one, just for fun?

Rhona,
Just one blue and white one, or a series? I hate changing colours mid series as I finish up with far too many block variations to go through looking for the right block in the right colours!
Weather wise we have had a moderate start to autumn after a hot end to summer, though the summer as a whole came in fits and starts.

I really like the last two. Second last one reminds me of a wreath in a window and the white, well that is the snow that we seem to live with for most of the year! In green and white with red centers would definitely be a Christmas quilt!

Cindy,
At least some of the cool has moved south to end our summer … which has been stuttering for three months … a bit hot here, cool, then a bit more hot.
I had thought I might add a touch of green for Christmas! My favourite of this lot was the last one.

I love them all. With the odd number of blocks, you then have a “centre” if you want. Colour choice is different too, I like it.

Marie,
I like having a centre block, but really need to have Courthouse Steps blocks in the mix for it to work. In most of the Log cabin designs I have to use four blocks to make a centre of some sort.
