In my part of the world today the last thing I will need is a nice warm quilt … except as insulation to keep the heat out of the house.
Thank goodness I can still play with virtual fabric and colour not too far from the air conditioner … and create some designs for a winter day, though a project with small pieces like this would be OK as hand work near the air conditioner too.
Right now, I would snuggle under either one of these!

Laura,
Right now we have a wind storm just passing, followed by thunder and lightning … which has started a fire not too far away … we live in town so not time to panic. If the rain doesn’t start soon it may get interesting! No quilts required!

Judy…stay safe and may you have a quenching rain soon! And cindythequilter and I will stay safe by the warmth of our fires. 🙂

Laura,
Our fire was closer than I thought, but fire truck was on the scene quickly and were efficient in getting it out.
The Adelaide Hills are more problematic … most of the area is inaccessible , and there are a lot of dead end roads. The fire is not under control, and won’t be until it burns everything combustible or they get heavy rains. The firefighters are staying out of danger as much as possible, trying to keep the fire from breaking out into more accessible country where there is more housing etc.
Thankfully, most people listened to the warnings and have left the area. That fire is three hours from us so we are well out of the danger zone, but lived near there during the last big fire.

Cindy,
I wouldn’t be going out there to go to the bathroom either. Reminds me of going to the “outback dunny” on a frosty night!
