Less Logs in the Cabin 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10

Less Logs in the Cabin 6

First three designs have just tiny changes.

Less Logs in the Cabin 7

These are the sort of changes I would make when piecing a top together … not always intentionally.

Less Logs in the Cabin 8

In the one above it looks like I made the wrong number of all dark blocks … but that is OK!

Less Logs in the Cabin 9

The last two are more dramatic changes!

Sometimes one of my designs gets to become a real quilt.

While I was away a real friend showed me her version of one of my designs … I was blown away by Marie’s effort! Marie is more inclined to make Log Cabin designs, but not this time!

The border above is not my design … Marie dared to make some changes, and I love it!

Then came a comment from a long lost virtual friend, with a photo and a link to her blog.

Check out her blog  … an absolute beauty, thanks to Gina’s colour choice and quilting.

Gina also posted about the quilting earlier.

Gotta love both real and virtual friends, and their real quilts!

  1. What a fabulous compliment! Not one, but two quilters who were inspired to make your designs into actual quilts! They turned out beautiful!

    • Laura,

Thank you … I was delighted to hear from Gina, and gobsmacked that Marie had made an applique quilt! I forgot to take a photo of the back … which is a Straight Furrows Log Cabin … but the beads is my favourite side.

Thank you Laura. I love today’s designs Judy, and the colours. Just shows what a difference reversing a block can do. I like the striped block on Gina’s quilt in the last photo, very unusual, and gives the quilt a dramatic look.

oo more log cabins for me to think about. I love Marie’s quilt. It just glows. It’s about time I made another of your quilts.I know I’ve only just finished the one but it was made a few years ago xxx
