Red and White in Reverse 23

Yesterday this design went from red on white to white on red in one step.

With exactly the same arrangement of blocks and just two fabrics there were some intermediate steps … during which I got a bit carried away saving slightly different versions.

I had already decided to show some of those steps when somebody made a comment …

How about half red and half white on the diagonal?

I have deleted the post I had already scheduled to show a few more steps.

I think this design is a bit too busy to mix up the blocks too much, and in some of these designs I have gone too far.

Should have selected a design with some solid blocks in there to leave some quiet places in the design!

I am starting to see all sorts of changes which I would make if I added more fabrics, breaking away from the two colours with high contrast by adding some intermediate colours.

I could quite happily spend the equivalent of a full working week playing with quilt designs, colour combinations, changing the contrast around … though eventually the call of needle and thread would get the better of me.

This project file was just to see what the designs would look like if the colours were reversed, but after just ten designs I am breaking out, and from here on SOMETIMES I will just show the exact reverse … other times I will use just some blocks with colours reversed.

Now I want to start changing the blocks themselves.
