I am a sucker for any black and white with a touch of red. I so want to dig out my fabric and play but I am being very good and not starting anything new until I finish a current commitment………. no matter how much you tempt me!

    • Karen,

I love the colour combination, but have very little of them in my stash … maybe because I have never been tempted to decorate a room with those colours; and these stark colours would jar a bit in my usual country colours with a pretty bland but creamy background colour. The latter is courtesy of rented housing.

    • So I could have chosen anything! I followed thr rule I learnt from Jinny Beyer many moons ago … light, medium and dark, and a touch of something bright!

      • Jinny Beyer is an expert on color, in my humble opinion!

        • Laura,

Jinny Beyer is* the *expert on colour in quilts. And* that* opinion is not humble!

The third patchwork book I found was Scrap Quilts by Jinny Beyer … her first book. just a little book about colour and charm quilts. Some of the books in my quilting library have increased in value ten fold since I bought them, but that little book has more real value in the content than any other book I own. It is followed by Jinny’s other books, Judy Martin’s Scrap Quilts and others, and the two Super Quilter books by Carla Hassel.
