Red and White Quilt 13 and 14

A touch of red and white!

(Amongst other winners in the first round of Australian Rules Football were the Sydney Swans … who wear red and white.)

I like both of these, with the lines between blocks becoming blurred with some unexpected results.

One of the best things about playing with designs in Electric Quilt is being able to move the blocks around to test what happens in ways I would never achieve in fabric, and probably not with pencil and paper.

I could have predicted the result of choosing the blocks which are at the points of the cross in the first virtual design, but there is a design element in the second design which would probably be invisible until this design was a completed quilt top … or am I the only one who can see the shape around the centre?

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

  1. I like both of these as well. The second design has a little bit of a middle eastern flare (at least to me) with that secondary shape in the center.
