Log Court 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50

Six designs using Courthouse Steps blocks … you might even find some with the usual half light, half dark combination of fabrics.

All the blocks are constructed in the same way, just tha fabrics used in each block are mixed up a bit.

These blocks are a good example of how the contrast works in quilt designs.

The colours are the same in all the designs, the blocks are the same, so the placing of the contrast is what is doing the work.

Just a reminder that all these designs are created using the same block with the contrast moved around.

I just thought i should check to see if there are any blocks with the usual Courthouse Steps use of contrast.

I think there are four with the contrast almost in the usual places, none exactly half and half!

I like the City Courthouse series more than Log Court … more room to play!

Might have to do a trip to the city mid-week next week.

  1. It is amazing what value alone can accomplish for design!
