Not sure that it will be a favourite, but like the idea of adding the circles behind some of the blocks.
A new pattern sheet has been added today, which means that there are only five of the six featured in the book are now available.
Current Block Pattern Sheet Freebies
The rule here is get them while you can!
As well, the booklet is ready to go.
To get the PDF of Red and Green Quilts Project Book leave a comment below … make it a nice one!
Please note that this is not an instruction book, just a collection of otherwise unpublished layouts for table runners, table toppers and various size quilts you can make with the collection of patterns sheets which have been available over the last month.
You will also get a link to Google Docs so you can download the Electric Quilt project file I used to put the booklet together.
I do plan to have it all ready to be attached to emails before the post is published, but Murphy’s Law operates around my place!
Update before publication!
I beat Murphy’s law, and all is ready to go!
Yeah!
Christmas is one of my favorite times of year and I love red and green quilts. Now I have a Christmas quilt project to finish for next Christmas – maybe if I start now!
Thank you!

Thank you for your beautiful patterns. I am amazed at what you have created. Its is a wonderful thing to be able to “make quilts” virtually cos we certainly wouldn’t have time to make them in real life! Maybe a couple of your blocks will become cushions first then in time a quilt to match.

I like the circles behind the blocks. For me, they are a positive element to the design; more interest for me. And I am thrilled that you are sharing!

I’m loving all the Red and Green blocks, as soon as I’ve got caught up on my It takes 2 quilt I’ll start cutting this one out. It looks like it’s going to be a very red year in quilting for me at least I can use the same reds in both quilts and I do love Red. Thank You

Nerida,
Apart from Christmas I have never really been attracted to red, but that seems to be changing.

Your designs are wonderful! Looks like you spend a lot of time on them, but as many as you have done, they probably just flow out. Well tomorrow will end the first month of the year and I still haven’t got started on anything new.

Phyllis,
I spend a lot of time … but yes, they flow pretty freely on a good day!

How on earth could any one not leave a nice comment. I have been digging out various shades of green and making towers of fabric all because of you. All good of course. I will use up more stash. I have been thinking that the batiks and hand dyes with their subtle variations could make for a really interesting quilt.

Karen,
I am more than willing to take the blame for towers of fabric! Yes, batiks would be good, along with tone on tone prints, mixed with hand dyes … don’t forget to have shades of red too!

Thank you so much for your inspirational designs – fearless exploration into traditional and not-so-traditional designs has given me a lot to consider and reconsider! I love this red and green series.

Saroja,
Love making people think! I love traditional quilts, ut ther s no reason why we cannot make quilts in the same style with different patterns and colours. The ‘modern quilt’ movement use modern colours and most of the time designs which are very simplistic … love them too, but they are not what I want to live with. I guess I just don’t want to copy designs, exactly, from anywhere.

The book and EQ project file are yours … enjoy them. I saw some photos of an old house yesterday, and the only thing missing was an old fashioned but elegant quilt and one of these would have been just right.

Playing in EQ is usually my relaxation … a few minutes while I have coffee (which can become half an hour or …), and it fills in time while Butch is watching sport on tv!

More important than sharing the designs and seeing others use them, knowing that someone is inspired to play with design is wonderful! I am planning to show more of how a design grows, but it is hard not to race ahead!

Judy, You’ve done it again!!! Fabulous quilts. I’ve looked a long time for a Red/White/Green quilt and I love applique. Your’s will fill the bill nicely. I absolutely love all the versions, but especially the one with the pale design appliqued in the “plain block”. Can’t wait to get started.
Thanks so much.
