Logs on Point + Extras 1, 2, 3, and 4

It is the middle of the week, so take some time out for a virtual Mid Week Log Cabin Retreat.

It is also the start of a period of twice as many virtual quilt designs each day  …. concluding on Christmas Day. Hope you enjoy them all!

I made up my mind that it was time to introduce a new series today, then remembered it was Wednesday, so a new Log Cabin series it is!

What if I add some all light and all dark Log Cabin blocks to an on point layout …. and perhaps throw any other assorted Log Cabin blocks into the mix just for fun. If nothing else it would take away the boredom of making heaps of identical blocks, or perhaps add an element of confusion to remembering how many of each block variation you need to make.

I think it would be fun, even with the confusion, and the results would be well worth it!

This isn’t a huge file yet, but it is one which will grow a lot each time I play in there. There is a lot of potential for variations.

Adding some Cornerstones and Chimneys blocks adds some sparkle, though I think about half of them could be more effective.

Love this one!

There is good contrast, some points, some straight lines and some curves, including the full circle.

Good mix of design elements.

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.
