Five applique blocks in the centre ….. very simple …… and a very simple quilting design
Repeating an applique design as the quilting design, or part of the quilting design, is always and option.
Think I had better lighten up the quilting!
The applique design in the borders can also be used for a quilting design element.
I like it like that!
Maybe one day I will be able to include the quilting design with every virtual quilt ….. but I need a lot of practice to be able to work a little faster ….. what I have shown this weekend took three full days or more to do ….. but I have some leftovers to work on for another virtual quilting bee next month.
Miaou! Am in the last stages of a compurrlex shawl but this looks just as difficult!

Cat,
I think a quilt is way less complex than almost any knitted item!

Great quilt and I love the quilting ideas. That’s the part I get stuck on the most.

Gina,
Thank you.
I think a lot of people get stuck with quilting designs, and that is a bit of incentive to learn to use the quilting layer of EQ7 so I can show what I would do.

I love the design. I draw out most of my quilting and if I like it draw it larger on the quilt face. I have the EQ7 but have not found much use for it. This makes me want to take another look at the program.

EQ7 will print the designs any size …. with enough points of reference to make it reasonably easy to tape them together, even when they are quite large. (A bigger printer would make it easier.)
One thing it does need is some play time to learn how to use it, but I am already feeling much more at ease with the quilting layer than I was just a couple of months ago.

Wow! That’s amazing. I make up designs for my quilts, but it’s mostly in my head, or on the fly, as I work. Occasionally I will draw one out on paper first, but it will just be a rough sketch.

Sounds like me without Electric Quilt!
I have still a lot to learn about using EQ to design quilting, and there are some things I will still do on the fly … including free motion, which I don’t enjoy by machine. I would use it for hand work, but would still use masking tape for straight lines, particularly for background fills.
