TNT Logs 15 and 16

It’s the middle of the week, which means I am retreating into a Log Cabin, virtually. I have committed to showing at least two Log Cabin quilts during every Mid Week Log Cabin Retreat, and you usually get at least four, in two posts each featuring virtual quilts from a different series of Log Cabin variations.

Today there is a third post with a variation of a different kind, so look out for all three posts today.

In the first variation above the thin logs are dark, in the second one the thin logs are light.

What a difference!

And I am not just talking about the overall design.

Lets have another look at the designs, with the light and dark reversed.

This one looks dark, like the second one, but it is really the first design.

The second design is below …. also with the light and dark reversed.

The difference is almost unbelievable.

Just think, this sort of change in any design could make the same amount of difference.

I have added thumbnails of the designs below, matched up with the light and dark reversed.

A Quilt Lesson in Black and White

Something for you to read ….. warning …. no Log Cabins!

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

I just love these – and having them sitting side by side makes them so much easier to compare their differences. Thank you for the examples and the link to the lesson in contrast. There are a lot of lessons here for us today! Thank you Judy!
