Ok, this is where I left off yesterday, but this time without the seam lines
I have used the same block in both the sashing and the blocks to create the tartan effect.
Can you work out where the blocks start and where the sashing finishes!
Sometimes the sashing and the block are the same block design from the Electric Quilt library, which creates the look of a continuous line.
By the way, all the quilt layouts here are 5 x 5 blocks with sashing half as wide as the block.
Sashing goes over and under, and then comes to a halt in two different ways, all by changing the configuration of the sashing squares.
You could forget about making blocks and just make sashing!
This is getting compurrlicated. I had no idea it is so compurrlex!

Cat,
No more purrplexing than making blocks, (or some knitting patterns)though there is a bit more room for unpicking if you put things together the wrong way in some of these.

Linda,
It is going to be fun ….. and later I will add some of the new sashing which is in the Electric Quilt 7 library, or start another series.

Gina,
They would be good man quilts ….. but I wonder how much that thought is influenced by the colour scheme!
