This shows up the contrast between the blocks of Double Irish Chain and Burgoyne Surrounded, but it is not one of the best results of combining the two.

Like this one.
Add a little sashing.
Interesting.
An improvement on the first one, but still not wonderful.
Lots of texture created with the pieced pattern.
I like these burgoyne surrounded by irish. Nice idea…..like the wide open spaces.

Averyclaire,
Burgoyne would have liked some wide open spaces when he was surrounded ….. I like them too, but I am a quilter.

I like the last one. It is, to me, a sort of “games” quilt. I am sure I could dream up a “pounce and prowl” sort of game on it!

Cat,
Now I know why there are so many photos of cats on quilts …. they only look like they are sleeping, they are really contemplating their next move!

Maybe it needs some cat toys in the shape of chess pieces.
A lo mejor necesita un poco de juguetes del gato en forma de piezas de ajedrez.
