Did I mention yesterday I wondered what would happen if I tipped the EQ 4x4s series in point?
Yes, well, there are the blocks tipped on point, but I have slipped in another block too, as well as using a softer collection of fabrics.
I don’t usually show any virtual quilt which uses just one block set side by side. Everybody has seen lots of that, even if they haven’t seen my choice of fabrics or even the individual blocks I am using, but I was intrigued with these blocks.
They look totally different used side by side as most people would use them compared to the effects that appear when they are side by side with other blocks.
I do like the effect where the corners of the blocks meet. there is now a dark star and a light star
This block changes character all together now it is both on point and side by side!
The new block just looks good!
Time to see what happens when they are added together.
Let’s start with a couple of pairs used alternatively.
Here is the new block with my favourite of the old blocks.
The new block with that spiky starry block which I don’t like much!
Much nicer with softer fabric used in the points though!
The new block and the half square triangles look good.
Now start stirring!
And they are looking good to me!
I can only count five of these … and I intended to add 6 today like every day this month to meet the challenge of posting 1000 virtual quilts by the time Electric Quilt 7 is due to be shipped.
(I don’t count the samplers or any quilt using just one block unless there is something unique about the setting, not just my choice of fabric.)
I only saved five in the project file ……. but there is an ‘orphan’ virtual quilt ready to go, so if you hold on a minute, I will add that in another post!
