Tangled Irish Chains Intro

Let’s take Single Irish Chain ……

……. Double Irish Chain ……

……. and Triple Irish Chain ………

…… and lay them side by side ……

….. arrange them from the outside in ……

……. or from the inside out …….

…… and shake them all about!

Just when it starts to get interesting it’s time for me to sign off for the day,

but Tangled Irish Chains will return,

and keep getting more and more tangled!

By the way, the first three quilts shown today don’t count towards my goal of posting 1000 virtual quilts by June 7th, when Electric Quilt 7 is going to be shipped. I only count original designs and original layouts ….. most of you would have recognised the Single, double and Triple Irish Chains!

824 posted, 126 to go!

I had this post scheduled, but checked this morning to make sure I had posted half a dozen new virtual quilts.

It took over half an hour to add the extra one, then the computer and internet decided to play nicely, and it took 1 minute tops to add this PS and update the post!

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.

    These are all very cool!

  2. Donna says:

lovely variations – just shows you can do a lot with “traditional” if you give it a chance! Thank you Judy!

    • Donna,

Thank you. There are some incredible designs just waiting for someone to find them, and if we all forget what is supposed to work together and just try we could create magic. (Probably a few horrible messes along the way too!)

Just a thought, I wonder if the quilt police of 50 years ago would accept these as ‘traditional’?

    Purrfect play space!

I really like the last few quilts, shaken all about 🙂
Very good idea using same type of blocks together like this, I may have to have a play with EQ myself and make one, after the UFOs are finished!

    • Leeann,

Thank you, and yes, play with EQ and see what you can do.

I am amazed at what happens when I put assorted blocks together and shake, but putting all the Irish Chains together I thought would be a long shot, but it has paid off big time. I have many more waiting to be added to the collection!

Brilliant! First time I have seen the 3 combined … ingenious!
