Ok, have you re-filled your coffee mug? Here are some of the quilt designs which happened when I started twisting and turning a variety of blocks.
As you can see from the first two I have thrown a bit of everything into the pot. There are traditional Log Cabin blocks, Thick and Thin and Courthouse Steps.
The last one features Log Cabin, Courthouse Steps, Thick and Thin and Cornerstones..
I love the simplicity of this last one!
Don’t know about you, but I think I need a drink after carrying all those logs.
Don’t forget that next Mid Week Retreat will be a bit of a mystery, and after all this time in the cabin I am getting a bit of cabin fever. Come and see what happens when that happens!
I love #1!

Thank you Judy – you did some things I had not thought of, and they look pretty nice. Imagine if you were using more variety of color or even scrap with just lights and darks to carry your eyes. What fun…

Donna,
Providing you keep the strong contrast it would work well with more colours, and scraps. Tha contrast is the key!

These are so unlike the traditional log cabins…but VERY interesting. Never would have believed that there are so many variations!

Averyclaire,
Certainly not very traditional, but the building process is exactly the same!
We really don’t need new tools and techniques to make interesting and original quilts.

I love the idea of logs on point. I can see I’m going to have spend a few more hours playing with EQ.
