City Court 1 …… and 2

I have started two project files for Courthouse Steps variations, the first with variations for smaller quilts set 4 x 4 and 5 x 5. These two are from the second project file with 6 x 6 and more settings.

More blocks means more room to play, as well as designs suitable for the standard Queen size bed. Narrower strips will produce smaller quilts, but I would use strips cut one and a half inches wide or two inches wide for all the Log Cabin variations, and adding four strips to each side of the centre square.

Lots more interesting designs are appearing than I thought, so this is a bonus bit of show and tell for this weeks retreat.

I spend some time playing with Log Cabin blocks on Wednesdays, which is why you could get an extra edition sometime during the day.  So far I am finding more quilt designs each week than I am using, so Mid Week Retreats in a Virtual Log Cabin are here for the long term. On the other side of the world  Gina is working towards a Log Cabin project each Wednesday, and has added her own touch to one of my designs, so you can watch her progress too!

Join me here next week to see another new series of variations, and in two weeks time I will invite EQ6 users to start collecting Project Files for a mystery  quilt ….. using Log Cabin variations of course. But keep in mind the only time you can comment to be a part of the mystery quilt is during a Mid Week Log Cabin Retreat. If you don’t have EQ6 you can collect the instructions in PDF format.

About Virtual Quilter

I am a quilter who designs many more quilts than I will ever make, and I am sharing one quilt design every day in Virtual Quilter. I also share my completed projects in Stuff-Ups, and Christmas decorations in Christmas Everyday of the Year.
