Before Christmas I started playing with the Double Wedding Ring design, and decided that there were so many and I love them all, that they would become a regular series.
The only rule I have made for this series is that at least some of the blocks will have at least one segment of the wedding ring. Some will usually have more.
The segment I have used in my blocks is a solid piece, but that was for ease of colouring the designs rather than because these designs could not be made with the segmented blocks. If I used segments I would used fabrics with very little contrast for the segments so that the fabrics are graded from light to medium light.
In addition I have selected six appliqué blocks to use in the designs. Any similar blocks could be used instead of my choices.
These are the blocks I have used, with the addition of solid blocks of the background fabric.
Finally for today another design, this time with a few more of the full Double Wedding Ring blocks.
I like it, and hope you do too.
Oh, I do love that quilt. I have always wanted to try making a double wedding ring quilt. The colors you have chosen are so discrete.

Donna, They are lovely quilts, and I think i might be tempted to make one of this series of designs. Maybe the second one in this post …… maybe one of the others which i will show later. Judy B
